Testing the Accuracy

To test the accuracy of the classification as well as the false classifications (or false positives) of the refined phrases, read the messages from a data set on the Phrase Matching Tab whilst using the filtering options. A 'false positive' is when the text processing operation incorrectly reports an Object match when that was not intended. A 'false negative' on the other hand is when an actual match is not detected. A measure of the correct classification is how many 'true positives'. The Advanced Filter button gives the user more flexibility in defining filters on multiple Attributes. Next to the Read Messages button the result of the processing will be reported showing how many messages satisfied the filter out of the total number of messages in the data set used. The results of the text processing on each of the matched messages can be seen in the Matched Objects Window and the Message Analysis Window. The Matched Objects Window shows which Objects have been matched, the text that caused the match and the phrase which is associated with that text as well as the weight of that phrase match and the weight of the Object match in brackets (amalgamated weight of all the phrase matches of that Object in that message). The Message Analysis Window shows the location of the matched text colour coded to aid identification.
